  • the talented mr. ripley

You know when you are a kid and your mom doesn’t like one of your friends so you can’t hang out with them anymore? This friend is definitely Tom Ripley. When Ripley (Matt Damon) befriends Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law) and his girlfriend Marge Sherwood (Gwyneth Paltrow) in Italy, all is fine and dandy. However, what seems like the perfect friendship Posted to Dusk Diaries (Weblog) by DuskJenn on 09-07-2010
  • silence of the lambs & hannibal

Many consider Hannibal Lecter to be the best villain of all time. I decided to poll my fellow employees to see how Hannibal stacks up next to other villains in Dusk movies this month! Just as I thought, Hannibal took the villain cake. You can watch Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal back-to-back, starting at 9pm ET. Posted to Dusk Diaries (Weblog) by DuskJenn on 08-31-2010
  • the woods

What makes the woods so creepy? Is it the quietness? Is it the fact that no one is around? Maybe it’s the feeling of vulnerability because civilization (and help!) seems so far away. Not sure exactly. All I know is that I keep FAR away from any sort of forest/woodland after the sun goes down! Set in 1965, teenage rebel Heather Fasulo is sent to Posted to Dusk Diaries (Weblog) by DuskJenn on 08-24-2010
  • the fog

I have always loved small beach towns. I find there is a certain charm that comes with living by the ocean. It seems that movies have taken the idea of a small, quaint, tight-knit community by the water, and have turned it into something to fear. The ocean is beautiful, but we never really know what it is capable of. The Fog takes place in a small beach Posted to Dusk Diaries (Weblog) by DuskJenn on 08-18-2010
  • stephen king books-turned-movies

Stephen King has had over thirty of his books turned into feature films, but which is the best? I took an unofficial poll in our office to see which Stephen King movie is most liked, and here is what I came up with: Shawshank for the win, with The Shining a close second! I’m definitely team Carrie though! Which is your favourite Stephen King book Posted to Dusk Diaries (Weblog) by DuskJenn on 08-11-2010
  • dreamcatcher

The phrase "no good deed goes unpunished" seems to be definitely true in movies. Why does picking up a hitchhiker or helping an elderly person across the road almost always result in an awful bad luck or plain and simple death? In Dreamcatcher , four life-long friends rent a cabin in the middle of the woods to hunt every year. When Jonsey Posted to Dusk Diaries (Weblog) by DuskJenn on 08-10-2010
  • ghost ship

When Jack Ferrimen (Desmond Harrington), a Canadian Airforce pilot, spots a sinking ship in the middle of Bering Sea, he recruits a group to salvage the ship and bring it back to the harbour. What they discover is that the ship has been missing since 1962 and that any ship found in International waters can be claimed. Thrilled with his find, Jack celebrates Posted to Dusk Diaries (Weblog) by DuskJenn on 08-04-2010
  • enduring love

When you endure something tragic with another person, a loved one or a stranger, an automatic bond is formed. This bond is secured by the notion that no one else in the world understands what you are going through, how you feel, and what exactly happened like that one other person. Joe and his girlfriend Claire are enjoying a picnic in the park when Posted to Dusk Diaries (Weblog) by DuskJenn on 07-29-2010
  • one hour photo

Before digital cameras, file uploading, Photoshop and social networking, people would get their photos the oldschool way – by dropping off their roll film at the local photo lab. Though we would hand over our film to the photo technician without even thinking twice, it’s now kind of creepy to think that someone was looking through pictures Posted to Dusk Diaries (Weblog) by DuskJenn on 07-20-2010
  • swimfan

Ben (Jesse Bradford) is star swimmer on this high school swim team. Ben’s perfect and supportive girlfriend, Amy (Shiri Appleby), is nervous about their future together after high school. Madison (Erika Christensen) is a new girl at school who Ben befriends while helping her open her locker. Ben has a fling with Madison without Amy knowing.
